Vaulty Manor Wedding Video | Kathryn and Matt

Shot on location at Vaulty Manor, Essex - September 2026

Kathryn and Matthew’s Vaulty Manor wedding took place on a beautiful hot September day, and this was a busy one, with plenty of travelling around in the morning before everyone eventually came together for a brilliant afternoon and evening at Vaulty Manor.

My day started at Kathryn’s parents’ house, right on the River Crouch, for bridal prep. It was a lovely setting to begin the day, with Kathryn getting ready surrounded by family before I headed across town to catch up with Matthew and the boys.

They were patiently waiting for everything to get underway, although one of my favourite moments of the morning came when Matt opened the card Kathryn had written for him. There were definitely a few tears. He was clearly hugely touched by her words, and it was one of those quiet little moments that says far more about a couple than anything staged ever could.

From there, it was back across town to Kathryn for the final preparations before everyone headed to the church.

And what a lovely church it was to film in. Welcoming, bright, loads of space, and a beautiful service surrounded by their family and friends. After squeezing cameras into some particularly tiny churches this year, I certainly appreciated having room to breathe!

Kathryn and Matthew’s story began back in March 2016, thanks to Tinder. They had been talking for around a week and a half before finally meeting in Central Park in Chelmsford for their first date. Nearly a decade later, that first meeting had led them here.

After the ceremony, it was a short drive to Vaulty Manor, where the pace of the day changed completely. Guests spilled out into the grounds, drinks were flowing, and a brilliant saxophonist provided the soundtrack to a warm September afternoon. When choosing their venue, Kathryn and Matthew knew they wanted something that combined a modern feel with a little more rustic character.

"We wanted a venue that was modern yet still had a rustic feel, and Vaulty had the perfect combination of both. We only looked at three venues before we knew it was the one for us."

I'd shot my very first wedding here at Vaulty Manor, back in 2013, and to my recollection, I don't think I'd been back since! One of those little quirks of the wedding industry. But the venue's quality soon came flooding back to me. You have all the character and countryside around you, but the reception spaces feel bright and contemporary. On a warm September day like this, the gardens and surrounding fields really came into their own.

Kathryn and Matthew were wonderful company throughout. From that emotional card in the morning, through the church ceremony and into a relaxed afternoon in the sunshine, there was a real warmth to the whole wedding.

And after a morning spent travelling back and forth across Burnham-on-Crouch, it was lovely to finally settle into Vaulty Manor, saxophone playing, sun still shining, and everyone simply enjoying the celebration.

A beautiful Vaulty Manor wedding and another brilliant couple. Thank you Kathryn and Matt for your help and warm hospitality.
