Gaynes Park Wedding Video | Ragan and Cyrus
Shot on location at Gaynes Park, Essex – May 2026
Ragan and Cyrus’ Gaynes Park wedding took place on a beautiful Sunday at the end of May. The weather was warm, if a little overcast at times, but the atmosphere more than made up for the lack of blazing sunshine. This was a day overflowing with joy, laughter and love, and one that felt truly unique from start to finish.
It was also wonderful to be back at Gaynes Park, one of my favourite wedding venues in Essex. I’ve filmed there many times over the years, and it never disappoints. The views across the countryside, the iconic orangery, and that unmistakable London skyline in the distance make it a venue that always feels special. It was made even better by getting to work alongside Tracy Morter again, one of my oldest friends and a photographer whose work I’ve admired for years.
What made Ragan and Cyrus’s story particularly memorable was the fact that this wasn’t actually their first wedding celebration, or even their last.
This was wedding number 58.
Not because there had been 57 before it, thankfully, but because each of their wedding celebrations had been given a number reflecting the age of Ragan’s father, at the time of each event. Wedding 57 was their legal civil ceremony in August 2025. Wedding 58 was this beautiful celebration at Gaynes Park. Wedding 59 will take place in Virginia, USA, where Ragan is from.
I loved that idea. It perfectly captured the spirit of the day, a couple determined to celebrate their marriage with all the people and places that matter most to them.
When it came to choosing a venue, Gaynes Park was an easy decision. “Gaynes Park was the first venue that Rae went to and other than it feeling just right, it’s also between London and Essex, easy enough for people outside of the UK to get to and has that amazing London skyline view that is just a sight to behold.”
Before the wedding, they also shared something incredibly kind about why they chose me. “We were referred to you by our photographer Tracy Morter, who has previously done headshots for Cyrus. After looking at your website and through your videos, we fell in love with the quality and level of detail in the videography in comparison to other Essex videographers. We have been having Philip Smith Visuals Gaynes Park YouTube movie marathons since we booked you and we get even more excited as the day draws closer knowing that our day will be captured with gorgeous quality, colour and care.”
Comments like that mean the world. As a filmmaker, there is nothing nicer than hearing that couples have connected with your work long before their own wedding day arrives.
Ragan and Cyrus’ – thank you for your help and hospitality. I hope you and your friends and family love this film. It may have been wedding number 58, but it certainly felt like the main event. Full of emotion, laughter and wonderful people, it was a privilege to capture.
