Gaynes Park Wedding | Melanie & Sam

Gaynes Park Wedding | Melanie & Sam

Shot on location at Gaynes Park, Essex | September 2022

This COULD have been a very difficult day. We began the day all looking skywards at the rains that just would not stop. I was fully prepared for Melanie & Sam’s Gaynes Park Wedding to be a wet one. A very wet one.

And when I say fully prepared…..I wasn’t at all. I turned up in shoes the weren’t waterproof, no coat or umbrella. After a whole summer of hot, dry weddings, I wasn’t accustomed to leaving the house & checking to forecast or taking appropriate clothing.

We got lucky though, because literally as Melanie stepped out of the Apple Loft, skies cleared & the rain stopped. From that point on we had a brilliant day.

I sensed nerves in the morning though, maybe it was the weather playing on everyone’s minds. Melanie was certainly quiet when myself & photographer Justin Bailey went to say hello on arrival. The boys were a little louder, as boys are, but still there was a element of nerves or worry about the day.

These nerves quickly passed as the clouds passed & as soon as Melanie was walking down Gaynes Park’s famous long walk the tension lifted.

I get to shoot a lot at Gaynes Park & it’s always a joy. I love Gaynes Park. Do have a browse of some of my other Gaynes Park Wedding Films here

Melanie & Sam were great company on the day. I enjoyed my time with them both & I hope they, along with their friends & family, enjoy this film of their day. I loved putting together their Gaynes Park Wedding film & I thank them for their help & hospitality on the day.

How Did You both Meet?

Met at the age of 17 online via mutual friends then started dating. Been together for 15 years when we get married.

Why did you choose a Gaynes Park Wedding?

We had come across Gaynes Park from seeing wedding images online and chose to visit this one first as soon as everywhere could re open after lockdown. We visited Gaynes Park in December 2020 and fell in love straight away we didn’t need to view anywhere else. It was exactly what we was after. We loved how everything was all in one place but not all just in the same room. You could marry in the orangery, have the reception in the Mill Barn and also have the lovely Apple loft to get ready in. The addition of the rooms in the Coach House sealed the deal for us. The gardens are also beautiful for photos. We both had butterflies just driving up-to the venue.

How did you find me?

At first we was unsure about having a videographer for our wedding as we’re both quite shy, quiet people and don’t enjoy being centre of attention. However we felt that by not having one that we wouldn’t be able to capture the atmosphere of our day and all the special moments with family and friends in a way which photographs can’t, and not be able to watch anything back in years to come.

You were recommended to us by our photographer and after watching through your previous weddings we felt that your style suited us best and we liked the way the videos had all the highlights of the day in them. Also the way in which you film people is done in a more natural way that we wouldn’t feel as awkward having you following us around all day!
