Shot on location in and around Marden, Kent – August 2025
I am delighted to present Joanna and Michael’s Kent Wedding Video, and what a day it was. Set on Joanna’s family farm in Marden, Kent, the whole celebration felt wonderfully personal, relaxed and full of joy and I had a wonderful time with them both.
I arrived on site early, and, as always, went for a wander to scout out locations and see what was going on. The house was a hive of activity and there was plenty going on around the farm to suggest this was going to be a busy day.
Joanna seemed relaxed through, enjoying the prep and the bustle that morning.
The ceremony took place in the family garden, surrounded by loved ones before drinks and canapés on the lawn, soundtracked by a brilliant steel drum band that set the perfect celebratory mood. I found this really easy to move around and gather footage. Joanna and Michael were taking their time to speak with as many of their guests as possible before Joanna made an impromptu speech on the lawn.
As the evening unfolded, guests made their way to a stunning marquee in the field. Dinner, speeches and plenty of dancing followed, with laughter and energy filling the space long into the night. It was the kind of wedding that shows just how special a celebration at home can be.
Their story together is just as lovely. Joanna and Michael first met on Bumble in August 2020, not long after the first lockdown had eased. Their first date was at The Albion pub in Islington, where they soon discovered a funny coincidence — both had studied at Durham University, although Michael had graduated just as Joanna was starting. From that serendipitous beginning grew the relationship that led them to their beautiful wedding day on the farm.
