I had a really lovely day with Nicki & Jack & loved putting together their Houchins Farm Wedding Video. Everything about their day was pretty much perfect through my lens & I was very lucky to be able to spend the day with them both.
I love Houchins, so everytime I’m at the venue it’s always a joy. As always, the venue looked in wonderful condition – enhanced by Nicki’s own floral designs. The dried pampas grass was a lovely addition & a unique & personal touch to the day.
I was lucky to work alongside some great suppliers for this wedding – including photographer Jodie Donovan who had travelled up from Ashford for this wedding & the always brilliant Three Mile Hill – the best three piece folk function band around!

How did you guys meet?
We met very randomly! I (Nicki) am originally from Surrey but was on a night out in Colchester with a friend. Jack was out as he is from Harwich and I started talking to him as I liked his shirt! We exchanged numbers and started chatting. Jack was going away to Leeds Uni about 3 weeks later so we didn’t think anything would come of it, but here we are 7 years later, 3 of those long distance!
How did you both get engaged?
We got engaged on holiday in our favourite hotel in Crete. Somehow Jack managed to get the ring there even though I pack all of the cases! He even waited until one of the last days to propose and kept the ring hidden in the safe the whole time. We were having a 5 course meal at one of the hotel restaurants, and Jack ate his way through the entire meal calmly! We had some prosecco, then went for drinks afterwards, and it wasn’t until we were walking back to the room that he proposed so he waited all night.
Why Houchins?
Houchins was the first one we saw and we loved it straight away!
