Victoria and Paul’s Wedding was a really tricky day to film, but they, alongside their friends and family, should be given great credit for creating a really warm and welcoming wedding in such difficult circumstances. Because it was wet. Really wet. It CHUCKED it down all afternoon, but you wouldn’t have noticed from the way Victoria and Paul embraced the day, and because of that, I loved putting together their Chalkney Water Meadows Wedding Video
The rain arrived just after 1300, just as the ceremony was underway outside by the beautiful lake at the Chalkney Water Meadows. So there was a little bit of time in the morning to arrive and get some set up shots before the rain came. I headed over to see the girls who were getting ready in the Water Lily Lodge, and then Paul and the boys, who were around the corner in the Kingfisher’s Nest.
Once the rain arrived, everyone gathered in the TiPi for drinks and food, but the atmosphere was perfect. Even with the rain and the chill, Victoria and Paul and their guests, were intent on having a great time, and the drinks flowed as they worked the room, with their kids, meeting and greeting.
And there we all stayed, for most of the day, as the rain lashed down. However, we were granted about 20 minutes at sunset to run outside and get some couple shots in the dry. Myself and photographer Laura Whitchurch had to work quickly to get some shots once the rain stopped, and I got the impression Victoria and Paul were grateful for some time alone, and outside.

What made you choose Chalkney Water Meadows?
We fell in love with the venue as soon as we found it. We wanted a big outdoor party, without any formal sit down dinner. Lots of fun and games for the kids (and Adults)
