Riverhill Gardens Wedding Video – Shot on location at Riverhill Himalayan Gardens, Kent
I’m delighted to present this Riverhill Gardens Wedding Video. This was a really fun day, even if the weather made it rather challenging!
The main challenge during Rachel and Luke’s Riverhill Gardens Wedding was the weather, and mainly the wind. With a forecast of wind and rain all through the day, an outdoor wedding seemed unlikely as I drove south and across the Dartford crossing into Kent. However Rachel and Luke told me that they mainly booked this wonderful venue due to the unique setting for their outdoor ceremony. I remember asking Rachel in the morning, soon after I arrived at her bridal prep, what the plan was and if they were looking to move inside. “no, we’re getting married outside” was the response and I immediately admire her strength of will and determination.
Spoiler alert – the rain pretty much held off and in fact come the afternoon and during the drinks reception the sun even came out!
I loved this venue though. Riverhill Gardens is a stunning and unique setting. It describes itself as a “Himalayan-themed garden mixing quirky and traditional planting, plus a den building and hedge maze” and the outdoor ceremony setting is amazing. Looking out across the Kent downs, the setting is both romantic and dramatic in equal measure.
My day started at Rachel’s Dad’s house for the bridal prep where I had the unusual situation of being accidentally flashed and then offered 5 cups of tea! From there I headed to the venue, missing the junction on the M25 and ending up adding 25 minutes extra to my journey! On arrival, the outdoor ceremony was laid out and both registrars were happy with the ceremony continuing outside.
The ceremony also brought a brilliant moment when Rachel and her Bridesmaids started to walk up the aisle whilst the registrar was still talking the guests through how the ceremony would work. What resulted was a brilliantly chaotic moment as the bridesmaids arrive with the registrar still standing there and with little space to manoeuvre a graceful exit!
The afternoon drinks reception saw the sun come out before everyone sat down for some great food and some wonderful speeches. As the evening guests arrived, myself and photographer Nic from Lemonade Pictures managed to talk Rachel and Luke out for some solo shots, and with the sun setting we got some wonderful footage. Rachel and Luke were relaxed and natural in front of the camera and we had a great time with them.
Nic was brilliant company – I thoroughly enjoyed my time with her and you should have a look at her images from the day if you get the chance.
I loved this wedding and I thoroughly enjoyed my day with Rachel and Luke and I hope they, along with their family and friends enjoy this Riverhill Gardens Wedding Video.
