Carlton House Terrace Wedding – Olivia and Tin

Carlton House Terrace Wedding – Shot on location at Carlton House Terrace, London
November 2019

I’m delighted to present Oliva and Tin’s Carlton House Terrace Wedding. Theirs was a wonderful day and I thoroughly enjoyed my time with them both. It was also great to work alongside photographer Jay Rowden and Mark from Mighty Fine Entertainment once again. Always great company those two!

How did you guys meet, tell me all?

I basically stalked Tin. We went to the same Uni (Sussex), I was in Second year and Tin in Third. Everyday Freya (bridesmaid and accomplice) and I would go to The Deli on campus for lunch. One day as I was lining up, I hear this really thick English accent. I turn, and to my surprise I see it coming from this Asian guy. That was it for me really. From then, we started noticing that he and his friend would also go to The Deli every day for lunch. I always wanted to just go up to him and start talking but I couldn’t, I always got so nervous. Anyway long story short, after a few months of seeing him around campus and trying to pluck up the courage to speak to him, the year came to an end and he was graduating… I went back to Singapore for the summer and I knew I was never going to him again. The night after the graduation ball for Tin and Freya (also third year), I wake up to a friend request: “Tin Le sent you a friend request”. This was followed by a voice note from Freya. My heart was racing. I listen to her voice note telling me what happened. Both pretty wasted, Tin walks past Freya and needing to “seize the opportunity”, she grabs him and says “I need to talk to you. You don’t know me but my friend fancies you”. He replies “Who’s your friend?” F: “She’s not here, she’s in Singapore” She pulls up my facebook profile to show him a picture of me. He gets out his phone and adds me on Facebook. I start the conversation on Facebook, although thinking that it was never going to work out because I was in Singapore for 3 months, and it would be silly to think two strangers (well more on his end) could keep a conversation up for 3 months without meeting. We somehow manage to do that and met up when I got back to the UK. That was more than 4 years ago and now we are getting married!

How did you get engaged, is there a cool story?

We took a trip up to the Lake District. We stayed in an Airbnb, after cooking during dinner, Tin tells me to shut my eyes. I did as I thought he was going to give me a present. I could hear him get something from his bag, he came back and said open. He was on one knee and asked me to marry him.

What made you choose Carlton House Terrace, did you look at many?

We viewed 3 in total but were looking at many others. We weren’t going to pick our venue at first because we liked another one a bit further out, close to Richmond. But once we viewed our venue we instantly knew it was the one. It’s beautiful, central and the venue hire goes to charity (a big bonus!).

What would be your number one tip to other couples planning their wedding?

Plan it together, it’s great to know what each other want, it’s an enjoyable experience and it reduces the stress on one person!

I hope Olivia and Tin, along with their family and friends enjoy this Carlton House Terrace Wedding Video.
