Old Kent Barn Wedding Video – Laura and Josh

Old Kent Barn Wedding Video - Shot on location at The Old Kent Barn, Kent
December 2019

I was delighted to capture Laura and Josh’s Old Kent Barn Wedding Video. This was a wonderful winter wedding in a stunning setting and Laura and Josh put together a brilliant day.

I should give a massive mention to photographers Olegs and Rita for their company on the day and of course the team at The Old Kent Barn who looked after us all wonderfully.

I hope Laura and Josh, along with their friends and family enjoy this film of their day and I thank therefor their help and hospitality in putting together this Old Kent Barn Wedding Video.

How did you guys meet?

I (Laura) worked with a girl called Jessica. I left the job but myself and Jess had always kept in touch. I always went to her parties and got on with Jess' mum and Nan really well. This particular party I went to was Jess' leaving party as she was moving to New York with her job. Jess' family were there as always along with her cousins. One of those cousins being Josh. We didn't talk that night. Apparently I was too scary to approach (ha) But Josh found out my name from Jess and added me on Instagram a week later. And from then on we have been together. It’s weird to look back and think that we crossed paths so many times at Jess' parties but I guess then wasn't the time for us.

How did you get engaged, is there a cool story?

We were in Bali for Josh's 30th Birthday. We had been in Ubud for 4 days and had just moved to Nusa Dua. Josh was desperate to get out to the beach and film the sunset on his Go Pro. I was hungry and throwing one of my hunger strops. Josh set up his go pro with the sunset in the back ground and said that he wanted to get a picture with us in front of it. So I stropped off moaning that people were watching us. Josh then got on one knee. Me not having the slightest little idea what he was about to do, I assumed that he was playing one of his pranks on me and was about to pull me into the sand (earlier in the week he had set up the go pro in our villa swimming pool to 'get photos' and instead had actually set it up to catch me being pushed into the water). I pulled away from him - trying to get away.... Then realised what was going on and was in total shock. This was all caught on camera. We then face timed our families. Including Jess in New York.

What made you choose your wedding venue, did you look at many?

After looking at a few other barns none of them felt like the one. We walked into this place and just fell in love with it. We knew we wanted our day to be there.

What is your first song and why?

Our first dance is the Jess Glynn acoustic version of My Love (originally route 94). Josh picked this as our first dance as he said that when we first dated it always used to play in the car when he was driving over to pick me up.

What would be your number one tip to other couples planning their wedding?

Do everything for you and do not worry about anyone else. It is your day! I have tried to please as many people as I could but it isn't possible.

Where did you find out about me?

You were Videographer at a friend of a friend’s wedding a few years ago and from the day I watched her short clip video I knew I wanted to book you.
