Lion Inn Boreham Wedding Video – Courtney and Matthew

Lion Inn Boreham Wedding Video - Shot on location at The Lion Inn, Boreham, Essex
February 2020

I was delighted to capture Courtney and Matthew's Lion Inn Boreham Wedding Video. Whilst this wedding fell right in the middle of Storm Dennis hitting the UK, we luckily weren't too affected. The Lion Inn is such a fantastic venue that my self and photographer Jasmine Jade were afforded loads of places to shot  without having to take Courtney and Matthew outside in the storm for too long!

Courtney has a personal connection to The Lion Inn and for me it's always a delight to film at the venue. It's one of my favourite places and one that always looks after their couples.

I hope Courtney and Matthew, along with their friends and family, enjoy this film of their day and I thank them for their help and hospitality in putting together this Lion Inn Boreham Wedding Video.

How did you guys meet

Matt and I met on a dating app called Plenty of Fish. His best man and his wife set Matthew up on there; his profile was the first one that made me laugh out loud funny. Turns out, I looked after his nan when she was poorly in hospital (I’m a nurse) before Matt and I even knew each other; his nan was one of my favourite patients ever!

How did you get engaged, what’s the story?

Matt took me and our two children to the same spot at Admirals Park where we had met 6 years earlier at the beer festival. Poppy came running over to me with a bottle of beer; on the label was a picture of me and Matt with the words ‘will you marry me’ on it. I turned around, Matt was on one knee with the ring and said ‘fancy it?’ From a man that’s so incredibly unromantic, he really did pull it out the bag; I had no idea!

What made you choose your wedding venue, did you look at many?

It’s been a place we have visited many times during our time together; lots of friends and family work here. I worked here when it first opened. We love family so was important the venue had meaning. There was only one place we both wanted to get married and that was The Lion.

What would be your number one tip to other couples planning their wedding?

Don’t do anything just because it’s the ‘done thing’. Weddings should reflect you guys as a couple and not just because that’s what everyone does; we chose music that maybe aren’t your ‘typical’ wedding songs but are very Us and I think thats more important than anything. Don’t get caught up in any drama; your day, your rules, your decision!
