High House Wedding Video – Yasmin and Oliver

High House Wedding Video – Shot on location at House House, Essex
June 2019

This was a great day – I absolutely loved putting together this High House Wedding Video for Yasmin and Oliver. It was such a unique wedding, at a brilliant venue and a real example of how a couple can truly stamp their personalities onto their wedding.

I love shooting at High House – I’m a recommended supplier at the venue which means I’m often filming wedding’s there. I love not only how well kept the venue and grounds are, but the way the staff look after their couples. Nothing is too much hassle and on Yasmin and Oliver’s day Meg and Rob went out of their way to make sure the day was perfect.

And it was quite a tough day initially. The wind was extremely strong which made the day quite a challenge to film in and it absolutely chucked it down just as many of the guests were making their way into the barn. But after that, Yasmin and Oliver had clear skies and excellent weather.

Yasmin and Oliver had tailored their day around their love of TV and Film, and had personalised their tables to reflect this. I thought this was a wonderful touch, an incredibly personal reflection of their tastes and personalities. With this, you should check out their cake, which was Netflix, related, created by the brilliant team at Sugar and Spice.

Speaking of other suppliers, I should mention the brilliant John Thompson at Pure Image who was taking the photos for Yasmin and Oliver. A brilliant photographer who I’ve worked with many times and is great company.

I loved putting together this High House Wedding Video and I enjoyed my time with Yasmin and Oliver. I hope they & their families enjoy this film of their day.

How did you guys meet, tell me all?

On Tinder – not that romantic!

How did you get engaged, is there a cool story?

We went out on the pretence that it was Oliver’s birthday that week. We went out for lunch and bowling and then returned via the tube. Oliver stopped Yasmin on the Northern line Charing Cross platform and nervously acted like he didn’t know where he was going (the platform was full of people and he got nervous!) Once they cleared off, he said ‘this is where we left each other on our first date, I don’t ever want to leave you again, will you marry me?’

What made you choose your wedding venue, did you look at many?

We looked at 3, but I knew from looking online that High House was my favourite and this was confirmed when we viewed it. We also liked that everything was included and you didn’t have to arrange DJ/caterer/dance floors/sweet cart etc.

What would be your number one tip to other couples planning their wedding?

Create an email account just for wedding stuff – stop yourself getting endless spam forever!

Where did you find out about me?

Googling videographers. We liked the look of your videos the best as they looked very professional and I like how the speeches/ceremony from the day is used over the images
