Hedingham Castle Wedding Video – Shot on location at Hedingham Castle and Saffron Grange Vineyard
I absolutely loved putting together this Hedingham Castle Wedding Video. In fact, there was a moment during the day when myself and photographer Tom Halliday had a chat about how this was pretty much the perfect wedding!
Everything about the day was fantastic and credit should be given to Emily and Paul for putting on a wonderful wedding.
My day started, lost and confused on the phone to Emily who had booked an Air BnB in the village of Belchamp Walter. Sadly, both myself and Tom had literally no idea where the house was and Emily had to guide two confused and flustered men to the house ahead of the Bridal prep! The house was small the there was a lot going on, so I got what I needed before making my way over to Hedingham Castle to meet Paul and the boys ahead of the service.
This was my first time shooting at Hedingham. It’s a beautiful venue, however, the blazing hot sun, coupled with my terrible fitness, made getting up and down the stairs to the Keep a challenge.
Emily and Paul’s service was one of the joys of this day. They had arranged a beautifully personal service, with their owns vows taking centre stage. This is always a brilliant idea, particularly for video. Hearing a couple saying deeply personal and moving words to each other always works perfectly for video and I loved the words Emily and Paul had written.
For the reception we headed to Saffron Grange Vineyard, again a venue with personal significance to Emily and Paul. Rural and Urban Events had set up a beautiful marque, lavished with some more personal touches. I enjoyed watching them wander around their guests, spending time with them all before Tom and I took them away for some solo shots.
Once again, I was delighted to work alongside some brilliant suppliers once again, namely my good friend Tom Halliday who I always love working with, and the team at Rural and Urban who really looked after us on the day.
I thoroughly enjoyed my day with Emily and Paul and I loved putting together their Hedingham Castle Wedding Video. I hope they, and their families, enjoy this film of their brilliant day.
How did you guys meet, tell me all?
Each others first boyfriend/girlfriend from school, both went off on our own adventures when uni came around, Em lived in New York and I lived in New Zealand. Then one Christmas holidays when everyone was back in our home town, we met up and the rest is history!
How did you get engaged, is there a cool story?
Well it nearly didn’t happen. A week before we were due to go on holiday to an island off the coast of Malaysia, Pangkor Laut, I lost my passport. We turned the house upside down, all the time trying to make sure Em did not find the ring hidden away. I was then on the phone to the passport office, and scrambling to try and get a new passport, it was touch and go for a while, but I got one the day before we flew! Once we go there, on our first night I had booked a private dinner on the beach, after our main food we went on a walk down the beach and whilst asking Em to face the ocean so I could take a “candid” photo, I got down on one knee so when she turned round I popped the question!
What made you choose your wedding venue, did you look at many?
We chose Hedingham Castle because we got “the feeling” we knew immediately that this was the place we wanted to get married. As for the venue, my brother is the vineyard manager and I also used to work up there when I was a student so it has a very personal feel to it.
What is your first song and why?
Make You Feel My Love – It was just know as our song when we were younger and we have loved it ever since.
What would be your number one tip to other couples planning their wedding?
Remember why you are doing it, it is easy to get caught up in wedding fever. Remember that at the end of the day you get to marry your best friend and share this day with the people you love most in the world…and some pretty awesome suppliers 😉
